New low-power RWD-QT RFID Reader module now available.
In response to continuing trends for lower operating current for battery and power-sensitive applications, IB Technology have launched the RWD-QT-LP.
The RWD-QT-LP retains all the market leading features of the existing RWD-QT (Quad Tag) RFID Read/Writer module, including support for Hitag 1, Hitag S, Hitag 2, EM4100/EM4102 and MCRF200/123 passive cards and tags, but now has very low average operating current.
Traditional RFID Readers in the market often have average operating currents up to 100mA (milli Amps) and have “power-down” modes to reduce power, BUT effectively remain dead and inactive during these periods.
The RWD-QT-LP employs dynamic “sleep” techniques and with a programmable polling delay, can achieve average current consumption of less than 150uA (micro Amps) even when fully active and scanning for tags.

Ibt website gets a new look to reflect our focus on authentication and metering.
The majority of the solutions we develop are to authenticate an object or person beyond simple access through a door. The need for a simple but effective method for authentication is growing as are the number of different applications.
We continue to develop our expertise and products to suit all areas of authentication from student attendance to controling the use of dangerous machinery and from verifying genuine products to identifying laboratory materials.
Using RFID for pre-payment and smart meters is a growing market and we have extensive knowledge and experience with these applications. Metering manufacturers come to us rather than try to become experts in RFID technology.
We still produce and manufacture standard products for a vast array of applications and can customise both the hardware and firmware to meet particular requirements.
